Originally from upstate New York, Randee Paufve is a choreographer, performer and dance educator, and the artistic director of Paufve | dance. Randee received the 2015 Isadora Duncan Dance Award for Outstanding Individual Performance for her acclaimed show Soil, and was named a 2016 TBA choreography finalist for her 2016 work with Cutting Ball Theater. Randee and Paufve | dance have been featured on NPR’s All Things Considered, and in 2013 Randee was awarded the first Della Davidson Prize. Randee holds a BA in Cross-Cultural Performing Arts. She spent a year studying dance and language in India, and earned a MA in Dance Choreography and Performance from SUNY Brockport and a MFA from the UC Davis. A popular West Coast educator, Randee has taught workshops and master classes in the Bay Area and Portland, and has served on the dance faculties of UC Davis, Reed College, Lewis & Clark College, USF, CSUEB and CSU Sacramento. Randee currently teaches at Shawl-Anderson Dance Center, St. Mary's College of California, and Marin Academy.
