AXIS is extremely grateful to our pool of volunteers who assist us in ongoing projects big and small. Our volunteers play an important role in helping us to achieve our mission. - Seeking Donations (services, office furniture, office equipment, office supplies, gift certificates)
- Board Recruitment: Research & Create a list of companies who encourage board participation and see if they have newsletters where AXIS can post a call for Board membership (YMCA, Sellers of wheelchairs, scooters, artificial limbs, SF CVB Access Guide. MD's. Physical Therapists who treat disabled, churches)
- Donations: Research and create a list of "Giving Circles"
- Auditing Services
- Do a fundraising pitch to corporations and celebrities interested in disability and the arts
- PR pitch to talk shows

- Commitment to AXIS' creative vision and philosophy
- Fundraising/development expertise
- Connections to corporate communities; expertise in designing social initiatives that generate earned income, "social entrepreneurship"
- Connections to the diverse cultural communities of the San Francisco Bay Area
- Skill in marketing/public relations
- Expertise in nonprofit administration, HR policy/personnel, or financial management
- Commitment to making a hands-on contribution to the company
- Experience with contemporary dance (as a performer, choreographer, teacher, or dance enthusiast)
