Spring 2017

After 20 cities over the past year and a half, AXIS brings its tour of Joe Goode’s to go again, a dance theater work inspired by Veterans stories of resilience to a close in Spring 2017.  Additional repertory on the full performance program include Dix minutes plus tard by Sonya Delwaide, and Divide by incoming AXIS Artistic Director Marc Brew.

Yerba Buena Gardens Festival

AXIS Dance Company kicks off our 30th Anniversary Season, collaborating with choreographer Stephan Koplowitz and composer Pamela Z on a site-specific work featuring a 20-member ensemble cast.

Onward and Upward- AXIS Celebrates 30 Years

Marc Brew creates the highlight of our 30th Anniversary in his first work as AXIS Artistic Director. This new work for AXIS will be in collaboration with Oakland based JooWan Kim’s Hip Hop Orchestra Ensemble Mik Nawooj. Also on the program is a restaging of Amy Seiwert’s The Reflective Surface featuring original composition by Darren Johnston.
