The Ms. Wheelchair America Get Out the Vote Awareness Campaign is an event created to grow voter participation and education in our community. There are at least 35 million voting-age people with disabilities in the United States, and we represent 1 out of every 7 voting-age persons. In the 2012 election, only 15 Million of over 35 Million eligible voters with disabilities in America actually voted. Ms. Wheelchair America travels nationally, providing education, training and mentorship to humanize the day-to-day life of people living with disabilities and to increase voter participation. Please join Dr. Alette and The Arc of Alameda to organize, mobilize, and ignite #votedisability!
Head to Ed Roberts Campus after 4pm on June 6th for a great voter education session, and watch AXIS dancers perform in the evening!
