This Jam is an open, informal space to which dancers of all types and backgrounds are invited to explore their bodies in a kinesthetic relationship to other bodies. The jam will begin with a brief intro. Contact Improvisation is a physical investigation into gravity, momentum, and weight sharing solo or between two or more bodies. Dancers move with constant attentiveness to their own bodies, impulses, and trajectories, while listening and responding authentically to their partners. The form encourages mindful awareness and mutual exchange. For beginners through advanced movers.

FRAGRANCE FREE POLICY:
So that people with asthma and other disabilities that involve chemical sensitivities can participate, we request that all people please NOT wear fragrance or scented products when attending events at AXIS Dance Company. This includes clothing that has been laundered with “fragranced” (as marked on the label) detergent or softening products.

We greatly appreciate your efforts to make AXIS Dance Company accessible people with these disabilities. Please view this list of fragrance-free products and information about why fragrances are disability access barriers that can assist you in keeping Axis Dance Company fragrance-free and accessible. This list includes many locally available fragrance free personal care and laundry products.

To help make our events accessible to people with these disabilities, we work with our building to use fragrance free, non-toxic cleaning products and other supplies, and avoid scented products whenever possible. Thank you.
