Make Monday evenings a real treat by moving with us and getting your jam on! Join AXIS Dance Company in the studio for monthly dance jams!

This spring and summer we will set aside monthly two-hour jams. These jams are open to the public, and create an informal space to which dancers of all types and backgrounds are invited to explore their bodies in a kinesthetic relationship to others.

Jams will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. with a 30-minute jam instruction and introduction to the company’s physically integrated dance philosophies. Sourced in contact improvisation, the jams will cultivate mindful awareness and mutual exchange. Contact Improvisation is a physical investigation into gravity, momentum, and weight sharing solo or between two or more bodies. Dancers will move with constant attentiveness to their own bodies, impulses, and trajectories, while listening and responding authentically to their partners.

Wear comfortable clothing, yoga wear, sweats and comfy dance gear that you can move in. Folks typically go barefoot, however wear tennis shoes or dance shoes if you need them. Bring your water canister. To help make our events accessible to all people, please use fragrance free, non-toxic toiletries and cleaning products and other supplies, and avoid scented products whenever possible.

We request that all people please NOT wear fragrance or scented products when attending AXIS Dance Company events.

AXIS Dance Company is working to create a space that is accessible to those with chemical and fragrance sensitivities. However, please note that we cannot control the use of cleaning products or scents by other organizations and individuals in our building. For more information, please contact us at
