Dance Access Day - A Day of Dance, Disability Education, Performance, and Fun - is AXIS Dance Company’s unique event for schools and children of all ages!  AXIS dancers will perform innovative choreography that demonstrates how people with and without disabilities work together.  The show includes active participation so audience members should come prepared to dance and have a good time! Funded by Clorox, City of Oakland, The Bernard Osher Foundation, and National Endowment for the Arts.

Take the 12th St exit

Public Transit:

Oakland Asian Cultural Center is located three blocks from 12th St. Bart Station. From the 12th St. Bart exit, walk down Broadway, turn left at 11th St. and right on Franklin.

The Pacific Renaissance Plaza parking garage entrance is located on Franklin between 9th and 11th, directly next to the Bank of America. There is an additional entrance on Webster. Parking is open to the public at $2/hour.

For those arriving via school bus, please use the loading zones on 9th St. directly outside of the plaza.

About the location:

Oakland Asian Cultural Center is located in the Pacific Renaissance Plaza. Upon arrival, please organize your group in a line in on the lower level of the courtyard. An AXIS staff member will be present to register your group and lead you to the auditorium.

While the courtyard is open to the public, please respect the residents that live in the plaza. Due to sound restrictions and limited space, we discourage schools from eating lunch in the courtyard. Try one of these Downtown Oakland locations to have a picnic lunch (click for walking directions to each):

Lincoln Square Park The closest park to Oakland Asian Cultural Center, Lincoln Square offers benches and picnic tables.
Frank Ogawa Plaza Conveniently located next to 12th St. Bart, with grassy area and benches.
Lake Merritt Courtyard Small courtyard between Madison and Oak across from Lake Merritt Station. This courtyard is across the street from Madison Park, which we do not recommend visiting. 
Lake Merritt About a 15 minute walk from Oakland Asian Cultural Center.
