Assemblies

AXIS Dance Company offers mind-opening assembly performances for grades K-12. The programs showcase innovative contemporary choreography and emphasize collaboration among people of all physical abilities.  Assemblies include interactive participation by students, and a candid Q&A with AXIS dancers about dance and disability. Our assemblies promote tolerance, inclusion and an acceptance of people with disabilities. Students leave with a broader definition of what dance can be and what a dancer looks like. They are empowered with the message that anything is possible. Founded in 1987 in Oakland, California, AXIS Dance Company is one of the world's leading and most innovative ensembles of disabled and non-disabled dancers. Paving the way for physically integrated dance, AXIS shares its cutting edge artistic and education/outreach work with thousands annually all over the world. AXIS Dance Company presents over 20 in-school assemblies throughout the Bay Area each year.
